Why Learning English Is Very Important

The answer to this question is very simple and easy to answer. English is a universal language (A global language just in case we are not the only creatures who can speak.) The world has dramatically changed. We can no longer live alone in our country anymore. If you want to learn about the world you need to learn English now….

With English, we can open ourselves to the world and the only way we can connect to the world is by using English as a universal language.

If you are a business man you would have to learn English to expand your business overseas, to deal with foreign clients and customers.

If you are a student you would have to learn English for your own bright future or, at least, pass the exam.

If you are an employee you would have to learn English for the benefit of your career, not just for a better salary but promotions as well.

Even if you are just a street walker you still would have to learn English to understand what’s going on in the world….

No matter whom you are. Learning English is very important these days. You can’t avoid it and do not avoid it, otherwise you will get left behind.

Learn English now rather than later, as there is no better time than the present.

English is spoken as a first language by 375 million plus people, as a second language by many and as a foreign language by 750 million plus people around the world.  It has official or special status in at least 70 countries and is being learned by over a billion people. These numbers alone make English important to learn.

If some of your friends, family and loved ones are not fluent in English, it may be beneficial for you to explain to them the benefits of learning to read and speak English, now rather than later. People may disagree about the importance of knowing English, but if you fully explain the opportunities that knowing English can provide, it may encourage them to start the learning process.

Jobs

  • English is the medium of communication in such fields as aviation and science. Jobs in these fields, unless highly localized, will be closed off to you if you don’t speak English
  • Some businesses that deal with international clients and suppliers such as in China heavily rely on English-speaking employees to help with day-to-day operations to interpret, translate and communicate directly with English-speaking customers and clients. Being fluent in English can improve employment opportunities, and better salaries.
  • Even if you go to another country where you don’t speak the native tongue and the country’s primary language is not English, you probably will be able to find someone who can speak at least a little English. According to experts, more than 900 million people in the world are either native English speakers or speak English as a second language. If you know English, you have a chance to communicate almost anywhere you travel in the world.

  • Parents raising children in an English-speaking country may have a problem helping their children through school if they do not understand English. For example, if they send their children to school and the teacher does not speak their native language, parents are likely to have a problem communicating with the teacher. In addition, if the children have homework they do not understand, parents who don’t understand English cannot help them.
  • In addition to job opportunities, there are other opportunities available for those who learn English.
